setterguy
I think I have found my new machine, a tournament sport 185 with a 150 yamaha four stroke on it. Looking for first hand opinions as to likes/dislikes about the boat and or motor. Thanks guys...
caseymcq
Quote: likes/dislikes... What's not to like? It has the center rod locker that cand handle up to 8' rods. Yamaha's are awesome motors. I have an Alumacraft with a Yamaha 4-stroke and I absolutely love it. It sounds like you are getting a really nice boat. If you go on long trips like lakes in Voyagers NP or up to Canada you will really appreciate the 40 gallon gas tank. What color are you getting? setterguy
That how I feel, like I'm getting the boat that I really want, but am always willing to listen to those with first hand experience. The only thing I noticed that I may want to change is the back casting deck is very small, but there is plenty of room to add on to it. It will be a Grey boat. Fishook
I have the 185 Tourn Sport with a 150 Yamaha. Just got it this spring and have put lots of hours on it. Every time I use it I realize what a great rig this is. I love everything about it but have had one minor problem with adding fuel (see the Equip/Expert section for a thread started on July 9 regarding this problem). I have a yamaha 19 degree stainless prop on it and I think this is the right combo. I get 5400 rpm (still a bit tight should get closer to 5800/6000) and about 44 mph/gps. No problem getting on plane. Bottom line - you will absolutely love this boat/motor. My wife is finally convinced this really will be "the last boat/motor I will buy"! So am I! Northlander
Real nice rigs and that Yamaha is bulletproof. Well as bullet proof as any motor can be. I know 3 people that have had that exact rig and they all really liked them.
