Central Bassman
I almost always texas rig them unless im fishing rocks for smallies then i will use a tube jig. The rod i uses is 6'6" Med-Hev bait caster with 14 lbs suffixs. I like the bait caster because i can set the hook a lot hard then with a spinning rod. The only time i will use a spinning rod with a tube is when I’m fishing for smallies around rocks and i need to use a really like jig head. The I use a 6’6” Medium Action 8 lbs Berkley Fluorocarbon. big musk411
I have been doing very well as of late skipping tubes under boat docks for Largemouths. I use a lightly weighted hook and my walleye spinning outfit. 7ft med light action with 8lb Maxima. The key is to have a very low angle on your cast to get it way under the docks. Also you can rig the bait backwards when they start to get warn out for a few more fish on the same bait. Here are some recent victems, 18" and 19" Tubes work good on River Smallies too.
