Will it work?

Im wondering if anyone can tell me if a 42" shaft bow mount trolling motor will work on a older style 16' Lund Pike D.

What # thrust is the motor? I would not go with less then a 65# thrust.

The 42" shaft will probably work in calm water but in waves it will be out of the water more then it is in the water.

For your size boat, 55 would be plenty. I have one on my 17' and it goes almost 2mph on flat water and you don't need two batteries. If the 42" shaft'll work, it all depends on how high you bow rides above the water. To high, and the smallest waves will pull the prop out of the water. If you think it'll work, try it.

i have a 1990 Lund rebel and the 42 inch shaft works fine.

Go 24 volt. Go 65 lb. thrust. Go 42" minimum....minimum. No worries.
