Fish to Win
I bought a 300 WSM that has a camo finish all over the barel and everywhere else- It is not a "blued" finish like my other guns that I just clean with gun oil- Do I do the same with the 300 WSM that has a camo finish that is not smooth like the other blued finish or is there some other oil I use for the outside of the gun- Thanks-
Hotspotter
Fish:I'll be interested in this too, as I own a good turkey gun that is full-camo.At the time I purchased the gun, I was told by the salesman, and their gunsmith to apply regular gun oil (whichever you use) to the camo-finished barrel as well. Didn't sound right at the time, but I've been doing it for almost 6 years with no ill-effects other than a richer petina (from the oil I'm guessing). It still doesn't shine, though I rarely oil it. In fact, I usually only apply oil after there's been condensation/rain, well after i've dried it out and wiped it down with a rag.Joel
