As a kid, I caught my first crappie over a pound on a half of a hotdog.

My grandpa used to catch bullheads using white pieces of cloth dunked in caster oil.

I caught a 4-pound northern on a Homer Simpson lure. Yes, one was made and it looked like Homer. Mmmmm, Homer....

My wife put a green grape on a hook and brought up a small northern. We still laugh about it.

Not really a wierd bait but today i managed to catch about a dozen crappies in an area the size of a car, bass fishing with a scumfrog. Anybody else ever catch a crappie on a frog?

Model paint was cheap, used to whittle my own plugs and also made spoons using actual table spoons with the handle broken off, a little paint, and found swivels and treble hooks. It was a good time to pass the day as a youngster.

Fuzzy Troll heads. Remember back in middle school we had on top of pencils and pens. Them Troll heads had fuzzy colored hair on top of different colors.

One day me and my buddy when fishing at a local lake and he lost one of his lure. Joking around I told him he should use the purple hair troll head off his pencil. So he hooked the troll head onto a large bare hook and casted it out. Voila! A 3lb bass hits it. I wasn't surprised.
