Minn Kota Repair Question!!

I have a power drive with sonar, auto etc... I need to put a new housing on because the old one broke when the motor came down. I have the new part however, how do I get the old one off? Do I take the power head off the top and slide the housing up off the shaft or do I take the lower unit and prop drive off the bottom and slide it off that way? Any help would be most appreciated. Can't you find a local service center? They could probably do the job for you in five minutes. Call MinnKota. Very helpful people.Why take the chance of doing some little thing wrong that buggers up the entire unit.

I had that problem before. I downloaded the manual and it shows how to take it apart. You do have to take the top off and slide the shaft down. It's not all that hard, just takes a little time.
