Survival fishing

Anyone ever tried to fish without proper gear, with sticks, vines and homemade hooks or something like that? Sounds kind of fun testing your abilities without all the luxuries.

I've caught trout without fishing gear out in Colorado on a few seperate occasions. One time I used my hat. I've also caught them with my hands.

I tell ya I have run into a few anglers who use pop bottles for reels they just rap the line around i,t a few of the guys I have seen do this are very accurate with their lasso like cast techniques.
