enlarging photos

Hello All,

I want to enlarge a photo. How do you prepare a photo for enlarging to 8x10 or 11x14 since they aren't multiples of the 3:2 format? Do I need to crop them? If I don't will they distort to fit into the size of paper?

Are you going to print them yourself? Either way, you are best off cropping them to the dimensions you want. If you don't, the printer or wherever will crop them to fit. I prefer to choose how I want mine cropped.

Mike, if you are having them printed by a photo shop, ask them how they want the file. Some want the native image with absolutely no pp. Others prefer it if you crop it first and deliver it to them more or less ready to print. Just ask them. Saves problems down the line.
