I have a farm up there 2 miles south of Thief Lake and borders Agassiz Refuge. I was up there last week and the water levels looked pretty stable or a little lower this year. However, I didnt see any birds, but Im sure they are around. I can give you another report this week or next week.

norwall,

Sorry I don't have any info for you, just wanted to comment that I'm watching too, but I'm guessing we won't hear much until people get up there. We go in October each year as well and are already planning the trip. I'm not sure if they are getting the recent rains, but if it's low now it seems like there is a decent chance that will change in the next month or so.

i work in trf everyday, and although i haven't been out to theif lake lately, the water levels here should be fine. We've got a couple of bigger rains that have kind of saved the summer. --we could use another shot right now though........

I was out in the area for a couple days, checked out Thief Lake. The water looked to be the same from last year, or else little lower but the access seem to hold some good water to get out there, but i dont hunt it or know how deep the water is to get to the lake. As in Duck reports, lots flying around but saw some on the lake, most flying in and feeding in wheat/barley fields. Not much to show for honkers yet.
