Estate Steel Shot?

Anybody ever use this stuff. Do you like it? Pros, Cons? I found some for a pretty good price compared to what they go for in Cabelas. They are 3 1/2" 1500 FPS 1 3/8 oz loads #2. Thanks in advance!

it doesnt burn the cleanest but for the money it works. i shoot a lot of #6 estate steel during early goose for doves when were laying in the fields and theres no geese flying.

I just bought a case of #4's, 3 inch (haven't tried 3 1/2) for ducks. I have had great patterning with these and I like them alot.

Pesonally I am not a big fan, particularly if there is some range in your shots. I have shot cases of the stuff and it is great for close range action. However, it seems to lack the knock down power of other, more expensive loads. Its all really a personal decision and I recommend that you try it to see if it meets your needs. Good luck!

The only difference I've noticed is that they are not sealed as well. Obviously you try to keep all your ammo dry but sometimes in the blind they do get wet. That being said I shoot winchester xpert as I can get them around the same price and they are sealed up better. As far as long range shots don't take them. Let them cirle in comfortable range then put the hammer down on them.
