Scoot
I've got a 1999 Skeeter 1775 CS with a 2000 150 Yammy HPDI. I don't notice it too much when I'm not running at high speeds, but when I get moving from place to place I get a really strong smell of gas fumes. Any suggestions as to how to fix this? ChuckN
My Skeeter has gas tank vents on the side of the boat, in front of the drivers seat. I occasionally smell fumes when driving around with lots of fuel in the tank, but it is not a terrible odor.Do you have similar vents there? Nothing you can do if that's the case, the tank needs to breathe.
Scoot
Chuck, I'll check this out when I get home. Thanks for the reply.
Scoot
Chuck, I can't find the vents you're referring to in the place you indicated. Where exactly are yours at?
ChuckN
I have 2 tanks with vents. The 6 gal. kicker tank has one vent on the gunnel next to the gas filler cap and the main tank has 2 vents on the side of the boat below the gas cap. They are small chrome plated vents on my boat, but I don't know about your model. An Alumacraft I once had had 2 round, plastic vents on the side of the boat, so they can be different in nature.
