"Moth" (pic)

not exactly sure what kind of moth this is,(beneath my garage light on some petunies )...googled it and came up with a form of "pepper moth" ...certainly could be wrong though...any moth experts out there?

I haven't a clue what it is jonny, but I love the shot. The color contrast is something.

Thanks Db!...well...again I blew it! ...it's an "underwing" moth...many species of it...lot of em resemble each other....looks to be an "Ultonia or cloudy" catocala underwing...live and learn I guess
