Ok I need your opinion

I respect a lot of your guys opinion, so be honest. I had an "incident" on Sat and need your thought as I will be talking to the guy today. Am I wrong here:

Well there was a watering ban.Kinda like officer I knew the slot limit was no 14-17"but I just needed shore lunch so I kept these 16"ers.

I don't know, I just was a little upset, when kids are playing in the manual sprinklers and people washing their cars and what not. I guarantee I used a lot less water.

I could have dragged the hose around and did the same thing, probably used more water, and nothing would have been said.

I can see the Chiefs side, he drove by saw the sprinklers on, and called his guys, however I do think some discretion could be used by the officers, the sprinklers were not on and I was pushing the spreader......

oh well this is so way off topic, just irked that's all

If they saw the sprinkler on and you werent around.... Its a tough sell to persuade otherwise on how long and what you were doing.

The ban isn't using water.... Its watering lawns... So the other arguments don't really hold, either.

Glad I don't have the issue where I live.

I would tend to think that there are more important things police could be spending their time on rather than issuing tickets for watering your lawn at a time when your not supposed to. I wonder if you wouldve gotten a ticket if it hadnt been the chief that had called it in.

Well thats a different story! kids plain under sprinklers,washin cars,Thats no waterban! I do think its a matter of principle now! Tell the Judge if the officer would have checked my lawn,He would have found no water penatration,and water was not running when he arrived! But I did use it to settle the application of herbicides as not to have dust settle in neighbors yard or street to avoid runoff entering storm sewer!To me a water Ban is no water useage

When I talked to the chief today, he told me they have issued 65 tickets in the last couple of weeks and EVERYBODY has a story.

those are all valid arguments and used them all when I talked to him today. His argument.........spread your fertilizer when it's the legal time to use your sprinklers.

I also said that using his theory, that if XYZ Irrigation was servicing my system during that time that I could be issued a citation if they ran the sprinklers.........his one word reply....YEP.

If you look at the letter the city sent out, it states that it is legal for you to run water for recreational use during non-watering times. You should have just started running through the sprinklers! My kids do it.

They watch our neighborhood close. Besides the Chief, there is at least one other oficer in the addition. Do you live North or South of the chief? I ask because I live in the North part of the addition.
