fishermatt
I got a great deal on a Humminbird 787c2, now wondering what chip I can use in it. I called LakeMaster, and they told me I can't use their chip in this unit. Is that correct? Is there another chip with the good map of Ottertail lake? Thanks. 0 Da Beak
Fishermatt,You can use the Navionics chips in your unit. Either the Hot Maps Premium, or the Lake of the Woods +2K Edition. Great Maps! Check out Navionics' HSOforum for the list of lakes.
0 Hookmaster
I don't think the Humminbirds takes Lakemaster chips. You are going to love the unit. I've had the equivalent sonar only unit, the 777c2 for a year now. You are going to love the 640 vertical pixels.
0 fishermatt
Used it twice now, and so far it has been great. I wish there was a way to get the Lakemaster Ottertail map in there. That's my home lake. I hate the idea of buying an iFinderH20 just to have that map in graphical format. Considering my old Humminbird was new in '95 when I got the boat, it's definitely a step up!! 0 Hookmaster
If you do any icefishing a handheld is nice to have. I upgraded from an Eagle Z9000 puchased in 1990. The upgrade for me was tremendous.
