Transfering ownership of a 4 wheeler

MuskieJunkie

Question

I bought a 4 wheeler new and now I want to transfer the "title". What are you supposed to have? I don't have anything from the state of MN, just a "Certificate of Origin for a Vehicle" from Yamaha. Thanks for any help.

There isn't one. The only thing you transfer is license, and that you just give them and they change it to your name when you renew. I thought it was pretty bad also when I sold a wheeler for my mom and called the DMV because we could not find the title. The lady said they are not titled.

Thanks for the reply, I also called the dealership, it's laughable how simple this is, anyone could walk into the dmv and say "yea I bought this please put it in my name." It turns out snowmobiles are the same way.
