0 LMITOUT
I have the 28cHD just because the 27 wasn't available at the time I purchased my boat. They are identical other than the fact that the 28 has an internal hard drive. I don't do any sonar logging so I can't say that it really makes that much of a difference to me. Obviously you can store more on the HD than you can with the standard memory that a typical graph has, but I wouldn't hesitate getting the 27. If I were to start logging data for some reason such as building my own topo maps then it may be more important, but the memory isn't an issue in my situation. If you also don't care about the memory, then I'd save the money and get the 27. I can't say anything bad about my 28 so far. Great screen resolution and haven't had some of the problems others have had with other newer models losing bottom at speed, etc. I don't plan on updating the software anytime soon either because I don't want to get a buggy program! 0 Valv
I just got the 27c and I cannot be any happier. The 2" diag extra of screen correspond at actually almost double viewable size. I ma learning all the features it has and I cannot stop saying "wow" every time it turns on....If you need recording check the SD max memory size you can add, if it's 2 or 4 gb I wouldn't need the hard drive, which adds weight also.
