Great news ice lovers!!!

Thanks to record lows and day time temps only in the low 30's ice is all ready starting to form on the lakes and river in the Ely area. Some beaver ponds had much as half a inch of around the edge.

Looks like if the the temps stay they will be ice fishing by thanksgiving.

I had to sell my soul to Jack Frost this year so we could get early Ice...seems he is a man of his word...lol.

I was out on a small lake north of atkin this weekend and on sunday morning their was about an 1/8 inch of ice on about half of the lake but most of it melted away throught the day.

Awesome! This is what I want to hear. No ice in the metro area yet but cold temps. I would be plenty happy to be ice fishing by Thanksgiving.

Hurry up ice! I'm about ready to take the spud bar to the ice buildup in my freezer. You should've seen the look in my wife's eyes when I proposed that. Now, she can't wait for ice to form, either.
