Ok I fish about 5 days per week on the ice, not a huge open water fisherman but I still get out about 1 night a week. Ice is where it's at for me. I have been running my eTrex for about 3 years and really I dont have alot of complaints. My wife told me I can upgrade and I am looking at the H2o C. I want to get the best there is out there for the Ice and was just wondering if anyone heard about any thing "NEW" coming out this year. My luck is I will pull the trigger on a H2oC and next week they will introduce the H2oC+1...

Thanks,

You will never regret getting the H20C. It is a great unit. If your wife lets you upgrade every 3 years, you will be more than happy with that unit for that length of time. grin.gif

Technology is always going to improve, but if you keep waiting for the newest and the best, you will find yourself having to upgrade annually. And that gets a little spendy.

Good Luck,

CA

Yep, H2Oc with the Lakemaster. We also have Navionics and it is good, but the LAkemaster allows more zoom and our 2006 Navionics has had several lakes where it was off by about 150-300 feet. Supposedly they fixed that in the 2007 chip, but we got the Lakemaster and now have two good chip options.

Good luck,

Agree 100% I bought this combo last winter before Christmas. It is almost like cheating. It was on 100% of the time. Spot on spot. I fish Mille Lacs a lot in the winter and it was dead accurate. Also used it in the woods. Now you can go in the big woods chasin grouse and not worry about getting lost. Buy the H20c and the Lakemaster. You will not regret it! grin.gif

and it's not just for ice fishing anymore... I can't believe the number of guys who put theirs away at the end of hard water season. (of course, they probably have something just as good or better on their boat.) For example, I just took my ExpeditionC on our vacation to NY state, and it helped me navigate all of those crazy highways out there, no NY chip needed.
