How long can I keep Nightcrawlers

I bought crawlers a week ago and have not used them all. How long will they stay alive in the fridge? I have them in a larger plastic crawler container that 6 dozen of them came in. They seem to die on me after about a week. Is that normal?

Are you by chance not punching a few breathing holes it the container? That and if the temp is too low you may freeze them.

I've kept crawlers in the refrigerator for at least a month by just keeping the soil-like substance they are in slightly moist.

I have one of those yellow ended crawler keepers. I use worm bedding in it. I had some in the garage fridge for the entire winter. Actually I had forgotten about them. They were all fairly healthy when I opened it up... I had been expecting it to be just nasty! I let them go in the yard, I figured after that they desereved to be free!
