The first ice outing was an unbelievable success. And I owe it all to the angel eye juniors. I'll be honest, I was very skeptical about everything that people say about them. But I have no choice but to claim them my favorite out of all my arsenal. Out on the lake, I had one bobber with a gemineye, and i was jigging with the other with a forage minnow(my old favorite) The gem eye would bring in a fish every once in a while. As I watched the forage minnow on the vex, I had a lot of lookers but only a few takers. So figured what the heck, I just bought a card of juniors, so I might as well use the little buggers. I threw one on tipped with a minnow, and I no longer had lookers, I had 100% takers. Everyfish that looked at it, took it. Theyd come off the bottom and I would bring it up 4 feet and then drop it and then on the slow rise,......wham! Fish on! For a grand total of 29 wally's. Not bad at all for first ice. I had blast. For all you skeptics take a card of em while they're still on the shelf, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.

Biguns, did you find consistent ice conditions on the whole lake? Did you walk out from the North or West access? Were you in the "deepest" water for that lake. I'm just going off of your other post. I know this is a lot of info to give for first ice but I'm just looking for general answers. I had allready planned on fishing that lake this weekend.

I was in 10 feet. On top of a break. The ice is not, i repeat not consistent. I tried to venture across the lake but had to turn around due to thing ice, but I'm happy i had to stay in that area! During the first ice on that lake everybody fishes in that big clump. I chose a spot about 30 yards away. It doesn't last long. I bet there were 25 other guys out there tonight. I went out that dirt road access on the east side. let me know when you're going maybe I'll meet you out there. I'll be out there again tommorow night with my angels ready.

Glad your having some success with your juniors! The day I discovered the ae seniors was much like your experience. I went thru all my jigging spoons and no takers (I carry about 35 different spoons), even my old standbys. Put the angel eye on and I started converting lookers to biters including a couple dandies that I was not expecting to come out of that particular puddle. I'm really looking forward to trying the new glow red glowdevils. I know that they are going to be hot hot hot this winter!! Have fun and be safe on this first ice!! Paul

All of a sudden all these guys from Saint cloud come out of the wood work. Show yourselves! Come out to little rock and bring your angels. I have a white 2002 1500 chevy with FM sticker on the back and a purple otter cabin, Responds to Matt. Come on over and say hi

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
