Pike lakes

Recommended Posts

Clean as far as??? Water clarity-usually fairly murky, it is a danned part of the zumbro river. I have seen it though very clear, like visibility 10', that is very uncommon though. Weed growth-not a whole lot but there are some areas that have a type of cabbage that I have consistently caught pike from. Debris- a definate yes, especially after a heavy rain, branches, garbage, etc... I have eaten fish from here and they taste just fine, there are some consumption advisories on the DNR HSOforum for this lake though because of the fact that it is a river with runoff in it. Just look for it on the lake finder. Hope that answers your question.

I think that I have seen one or two spear houses out in the winter. Not too many people actually target them on the Zumbro though, unfortuantely. I would love to see some kind of tournament or something of that nature just for pike because I think that they are an underfished species in this lake and there are alot of them. Maybe something like that might get more people out for them. I have thought about trying to get something going like that for next year possibly. Most people fish for bass and panfish in that lake because there are good populations of both and some decent size to them as well.

I have only caught 1 pike on cedar and it wasnt even 3 lbs so i wouldnt try your luck there. and that lake is so choked with weeds right now, it would be so hard to fish.
