I have the 1850 Reata and prefer that layout for me due to the amount of time my wife and kids spend in the boat. It's been a great boat for us.

I haven't fished out of an 1860 Reata but have looked them over.

I've spent quite a bit of time fishing out of an 1880 Skeeter, which I prefer by a wide margin over the 1860 Reata. I'd suggest you give the Skeeter a look if you haven't done so already.

Have fun shopping and good luck with your decision.

I have three weeks under my belt with the 1860. My last boat was a 17 ft. Pro V. I owned three lunds and liked them all but this is a whole different ball game. Incredibly smooth dry ride. So far the family gives it a thumbs up it is as close to a runabout as I will ever get. It does have some draw backs though. Although the storage is ample it is not as vast as the PRO V. So far it is a thumbs up. It has one Mille Lacs trip under the belt and did just fine. I will be heading to Leech for a week soon so we will see how that goes.

As far as the WX 1880 goes.... Really a nice boat. I looked very hard at the 1880. The 1880 has the jumb seats. The 1860 has removable carpeting (love it) and better rod storage (imo). The 1860 can also be fitted with a bimini top and total enclosure and the 1880 cannot.

The downside that I have found so far is that the 1860 comes with almost zero interior lighting and I mean zero. So I am adding that aftermarket. If you want more info just ask.

Scaup,

I'm looking hard at the 1860 Angler as well. What size motor did you go with? Most of the ones I have seen so far have had a 150 on the back, and it's rated to 175. Also, do you know if the SRS seats are available on the 1860?

Thanks,

Beak

Beak,

I have a yamaha f150 four stroke efi and and t8 kicker. I checked into the hpdi vs. four stroke and went with the f150. People have pretty strong opinions either way. I am very happy with the choice. I have good hole shot and a top end of 50 mph and that is with the kicker on the back. I don't know about the SRS seats. If need any other info let me know.

scaup what kind of mileage do you get with that? where did you get the boat and what kind of price range, I am looking at one now as well, 2 graphs, bow mount, keel guard, pretty much the whole nine yards without the kicker. Do you like the snap in/out carpet? Any input would be helpful... Thanks.

Scaup,

I have the same set up w/o kicker. Do you have a 19" or 21" prop. Mine came with a 21M and can only get 5100 RPM out of it. I was told it should be in the upper 5's. Wondering if it is to big a prop. Also, when trolling with the 150, do you get a vibration in the boat? I do, nothing terrible, but it is a little anoying.

SRS seats are an available upgrade for the 1860.

I have snap-out carpet in my boat (1850). I like it but I thought I'd be taking it out of the boat a lot more than I do, but mostly I just leave it in the boat all the time.

Most 1850s with F150s have the 21 pitch Yamaha Pro Prop, and since the weight is farther back on the 1860 I would think you should be able to run a 21 on that boat and turn at least 5500 rpms. Is your motor in the highest postion (lowest hole on the motor)?

Ok, I will try to answer as many questions as I can remember. If I miss something let me know. First of all for mileage all I can tell you is it doesn't get as good of mileage as my 75 hp four stroke (no big surprise there) it depends so much on how you run the motor. If you are usually at 5,000 rpms it sucks the gas. I cruise around 3500 - 4,000 rpms and it seems to do just fine. Price was a bit over 40k. As far as the snap in carpeting goes. I went to Mille Lacs with the carpeting in. Came home took it out and don't plan on putting it back in until I sell the boat. The floor is textured for traction and it is so easy to clean!!!!!!!! The prop is a 21 inch I can get about 5,500 rpm's but if the lake were flat and I trimmed it more I could probably get another 200-300. If anyone runs with a 19 I would love to hear how it works. I have great control when it comes to loading and unloading the boat. I really have not trolled with the 150 but for a couple of times and I do not remember feeling any vibration. I know that when the motor is at idle and low rpms when loading and unloading there is zero vibration.

If you need anyother information just let me know.

The price included a lowrance x-135, the t-8, four seats, mnkt bow mount, bimini top, f150. Top end is 50 mph. I may try a 19 inch prop just to see what it does good bad or other.
