Hemlock
Well, we now have 24 hour live bait. We've added it to our bag of tricks.
mittni
Hemlock:do you own a bait shop in the Kenora area? If so, what is the name and your location. Also, is it a problem getting jumbo leeches in mid to late Aug? Thanks again for all your great advise. [YouNeedAuthorization]
Hemlock
Yes, I do own a 24 hour business in Kenora (east side)...and without a blatent advertisement here, which I shouldn't do, but to answer your question it's called Sunset Strip Husky, first one into town if you are coming from east and/or south.24 hour everything store, including bait and tackle. Leeches....they have been on the smaller side, but are getting bigger. I have a very reputable source, and I trust I will have good quality leeches in August. This is my first year doing this, so I can't gaurantee anything on the leeches yet. Hope this answers your question.
fishermn
I did stop by and pick up bait from your place, but unfortunately the Dogtooth walleyes were not cooperating on wednesday. I hoping I can maybe blame it on the mayfly hatch? Sure seemed to be a bunch of them out while I was up there.
Hemlock
Sorry I missed you...or maybe I served your bait, and neither one of us knew who was who.
Nutty Fisherman
I will be looking you up on the 25th of Aug. for my bait. Have you had any reports on wabagoon lake. It's just east of where you turn north on the Souix look out road.
Hemlock
Haven't had any reports from there, all I have been hearing is that fishing has been good. They are not in their "typical" patterns. Blame the weather, I dunno...but they are definitely biting.
fishermn
Nope, I must have missed ya. I was thinking that was your place, but didnt recall for sure. So was it just me, or were the walleyes a bit slow last week?
Hemlock
Things did slow down a bit last week. With vicious storms and lots of rain, I think they were taking it easy. Things have balanced out and stabilized, and are picking up. Let me know if you are up again. I give FMers deals!
fishermn
Excellent. Planning a trip up in Late July to Dogtooth and hopefully to pick some blueberries. Do you know if there is any restriction on bringing them back to the states?
