Bad Day!

My fishing truck (93 Z-71) just blew it's tranny. 183,000 isn't too bad. I'm thinking about swapping in a newer drive train. Has anyone come across any good 4x4 web sites or first hand experience?

You probably have a 700R4 tranny in your 93. GM has made a lot of changes, but has used the same base tranny for many years, I'm not sure but may still be in 07s renamed as a 4L60E. (This tranny used behind 4.3 V6, 305/5.0 V8 and many 350/5.7 V8.)

Do you have a good local independent tranny shop? They have a lot of upgrades available, and will know what will work with your truck setup and how you want to use it.
