Aerator for livewell

I put a new one in last night, through the transom, my question is, is there a perfect length for the pipe coming out of the back, my old one was about 3/4 of an inch long. Also angle of the cut i.e bottom longer shorter? Which would help prevent keeping gravel in the pipe? Thanks in advance.

What I would do is leave just enough so you can put a screen on it and not worry about picking up gravel.

Wow, I forgot all about a screen..do guys usually just glue them right over the pipe?? Whats the best method do ya just wrap the screen over the pipe and glue it or do ya glue it to the transom.

Some are threaded and screw on pump inlet, others have 2 piece where base is glued or screwed to transom and second section twists onto base, also there are some that just presses inside pump imlet.

Maybe... you'd have better luck at a boat dealer's accessories department... or maybe check with Valv...
