Craftsman Pressure Washer

I have a 2 year old Craftsman 2700 psi with a 6.5 hp B&G pressure washer. I've used it several times this year and all has worked great..in fact, I can't believe life existed without it. Anyway, cranked it up on Sunday to clean the siding on the house, pulled the trigger found it had no pressure. I haven't had any troubles with this unit and I bought it new. I've maintained it well, drain and store it in the basement (just to be safe). I don't know much about the mechanics involved, but I'm wondering if a filter/gasket might be plugged? Anyone have any experience with this or have any ideas what's going on?? Secondly, can anybody recommend a small engine repair place on the west side I can take this to? I called Sears, they have to ship it out and it will take a minimum of 1-2 weeks to get it back. Please advise, thanks much!

Mine sometimes acts that way when there was air in the pump - just had to keep the gun on and let it cycle through.

Thanks, I tried that, thinking it I might have some air in the pump..but to no avail. Any other suggestions as to what's going on here?

Do you notice any load being placed on the engine? If not then I would suspect your pump.

Seems I noticed more of a "load" on the hose (the one connecting the wand to the unit, not the garden hose), and if I let the machine run for a few seconds, then pull the trigger, a powerful "burst" of water would come out, but quickly fizzle to a weak stream...is this what you meant?

Sort of. When I start up my pressure washer I first start the water, then I hold down the trigger, then start the motor. If the pump is working you'll notice that the engine labors pumping the water. If the pump is shot (needs a rebuild) then the motor will start right up and run like there is no load (like your snow blower when you aren't blowing snow). Your pump will have an oil reservoir, I would check that and see if it's milky, if so then your pump isn't pumping. You may also have a bypass valve thats shot and is allowing the water to blow by. It may be leaking too. If you have the sears model number you should be able to lookup the parts online and you'll see what I'm talking about.
