I got home today and had about 6 messages on my answering machine from fellow “Hot Rod” buddies. They we in disgust that I missed another car show yesterday.

Sundays show was pivotal and I missed it, because of cat fishing.

Ah well, there is always next year.

I figure I was missed, because I won “viewers choice” last year. At least I did not win “best of show”, because a picture of my car would have been on this years trophy. They would of not liked that.

I spent all day on Saturday polishing car and engine for show. I figured I was still young enough to go out all night fishing and then go to show. I was wrong. I said the heck with the show and went fishing when the opportunity showed it self.

I figure I have been “cat fishing” for much longer and show my love to the sport.

This KOTC has been my life since it started. Every day I get home and call the brother in-law and start up plains for next weekend, like I did today. At least plans for this week and include my wife and possibly Mankato. I have another grad party (my cousin) to attend, but parents might take the boys at party and we will head out from their. This is still kind of a pipe dream, but when I talked with wife a little bit ago at work she did not blow it out of the water. She likes it when I am happy (vis versa).

At least I can show car to someone. Here is a pic of her just now. Notice what is still hooked to truck. It sure is not a car hauler. wink.gif

Just had to vent,

Care to share some details about that ride? smile.gif

I'm kind of stuck between a wannabe hot rodder and 4x4 guy. So some day... the plan is to fix up an old Jeep CJ, Bronco, Landcruiser, or Scout. I like 'em all. All I know is its going to be black, way up in the air, no doors and no roof.

Sure!!! cool.gif

This is my 1936 Chevy Coupe. I finished her out (minus a couple of interior items) a little over a year ago. It sports a 1981 Pacer independent front suspension, with new mustang rack and pinion. Power steering, power brakes with booster (hidden location under driver’s floor board), original rear leaf (with supports), 4:11 posi rear end out of a 1955 Chevy, true duel exhaust system. The eng. is a crate 350/375 horse motor, with headers, hei ing. system (note coil still on fire wall), as much chrome as I could find and fit on eng., turbo 350 trans and more I can not think of . The body is a all original metal (except running boards), 2003 VW yellow with clear, all panels are shaved and smooth (I.E. fire wall, door panels, rear q-panels. Original head lamp housings, but custom L.E.D. rear tail lights. Elec. door poppers, with remote control. Interior is black, yellow, gray and chrome. Grant GT steering wheel, Dakota Digital dash (new version), 2004 Chevy impala power seat's, 1986 Chevy blazer tilt steering wheel, original peddles, Manual windows, no radio or a/c as of yet. New Firestone Firehawk tires and American racing fix spoke crome rims.

I just o/h Turbo 350 my self last fall and 4.11 rear end. I did major shift mods to trans, so it will shock you back in your seat when I shift. One item I modified was accumulator piston. I decreased size of bore for a shorter and faster shift. I installed B.M. shift kit and other mod’s. I also shaved down housing of trans to just housing. I took away all bracket’s and useless ext. aluminum. I did some more upgrades to under carriage, as far a cosmetic. I have loved cars all my life. I currently work at a Fab. Shop with a Flow jet machine. This is really up my alley.

Just applied for custom street rod plates “36chycp” and waiting for them to come. wink.gif

Good luck Hanson on future project. All those models are very nice rides. I personally like “CJ’s” my self. It sure is a commitment when you get involved with a large O/H and all that comes with showing it after it is done.

My first project was a 1971 Challenger I built in high school. It took three years and I sold it when I was done (had a family to take care of). I currently have a 1967 dodge dart GT/340 waiting in the wings and hope to further it in with in next five years. It needs a ton of TLC. grin.gif

Here are some pics I took last winter.

Oh man, thats what I'm talking about!! smile.gif

Would have had to repaint it though. Henry Ford said you can have any color you want, as long as its black. I've kind of stuck with that. smile.gif

Rushing,

She is a mule of sorts grin.gif.

I am going to try to get out there and bring my jumper pack to fire her up to night. I should do it anyways, because it has been a year or two since she last started. I think I did put stabil in fuel and she purred like a kitten when I parked her last.

Elwood,

Did you ever have you jeep up at Milaca mud runs. Looks kind of familure? Nice ride!

I could not forget to show Hanson my little "Peppy". I went out last weekend to start and move to the front of my yard, but I was reminded of why I have not started it for two years. The starter is shot! It is hidden behind the headers and I already broke one header bolt.

I wish I could of started and pulled it around to clean it up, but that is a week or two out.

Well here ya go. Little Peppy~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a 1979 F-150. It sports a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 390, with matching hood scoop (blinkers in all). It has locker front and rear diff... It has (with body) almost 9" of lift and coils in front and leafs in rear. I have 37" tire on it know, but 44 fit under nice.

It was dynoed at almost 495 HP in mid 1990's and after a little carb change and Ign. it still has above 400 HP. It will bark all four tire from a dead stop. It has more snapp than my hotrod (at least it will sink you into your seat)..

It sits back in death row, but my resent intrest back into her will get her back into shape.

Sorry it took so long, but with reg. life and many iron s in the fire, I sure wish I could of show her in prime (clean).

Ahh Well!!!!!!!!
