ZDavidMiller
I would like to knock out those rivets on the eyelet, and get a replacement cast eylet. Is this possible, if you know the answer, please direct me in the right direction of where I can find one. This is my grandfathers old boat and I want to restore it the right way. Also, if anyone knows of a welder that is handy wil aluminum I would like to fill those holes before I rivet it on. Thank you for your help! sparcebag
Do you have old eyelet? I had the same go wrong with mine! I got a piece of aluminum angle 1/8 inch warmed it and changed the angle from 90 degrees to fit bow sides.put it on the inside and rebolted eyelet back on. If ya dont have the old one I believe its not eyelet but a U bolt.
ZDavidMiller
Thanks for the info. My cousing ground it down and drilled both holes for a U-bolt. I would like to restore the boat with the right pieces. Does anyone happen to know where I might find that piece, or a replacement?
