Bald Eagle

Recommended Posts

Was out for about 4 hours - 1 decent northern and 1 follow for three guys. The fish that followed stayed on the figure 8 for a pass or two, then when my buddy pulled the lure out of the water after not seeing the fish for a bit it cruised off from under the boat like it had been laying there waiting to ambush. Do they normally do that? How longh should you keep the figure 8 going once you see the follow?

My father-in-law lives on the lake as well and he caught a 32 incher while trolling a tail dancer for walleyes last week.

I fish in a Green Alumacraft TP175 with a Merc. If you ever see me out there don't hesitate to say hi. I live close to the lake and end up fishing alone quite a bit as I squeeze in trips between kid stuff so if anyone ever wants company let me know. Does anyone think there are many fish in there over 45". I know I haven't gotten anything bigger than 40 but it seems that most people you talk to say that all the fish are between 36 and 40. Does that seem right - I haven't caught or seen enough to make an assessment of that opinion.

There are bigger fish in BE. I have caught a few over 45". However, it does seem that in recent years, the fish have been running a bit smaller. This lake seems to be best in June at least for me.. Anyone have an idea of the water temp out there right now?

Went out on Bald Eagle yesterday 06/05. Caught a few northerns at the island. We went dock skipping on the east side of the lake and found several nice healthy bass somewhere between 1 and 3lbs.

My fishing partner, aka wife, came on a school of "teenage" bass and it hit her faster than she can put her minnow in the water.

Water wasn't very clear so I used a white spinner with a bass tail to entice some appetites. The bass tail was torn to shreds by the end of the day from bass and northerns hitting it.

We had a good day, nothing worth taking a picture of or brag about, but we had fun.

I've been fishing BE quite a bit. Seen fish everytime out, had a bunch of follows, bunch of strikes but no hook ups. And then two nights ago, a connecting rod let go on my boat engine...so i'm about done for a while...phooey. mad.giffrown.gif

Anybody need a fishing partner on the east side?
