Carp hunting?

I'm not sure what you would call it but I hear alot of guys talk about this. Where you take the bow with the reel, shoot the carp and reel in... seems alot of fun to me.

Now my question is where can a guy purchase such a set up?

Or are these homemade devices so to speak?

You will want a bottle reel and a roller rest for your bow. Arrow and tip are personal preference, but I like most muzzy arrows(carbon, fiberglass and aluminum) and tips. All depends on the size of the fish, how deep they are and bottom content. Most gander's and bow shops have what you'll need. Go get em'

Its called bowfishing, and its a ton of fun. Just look through the past posts on this forum and I'm sure you will pick up all the info you need to get started.

What are the best areas to target these fish? Do most of you just take the trolling motor and go around the shallows and shoot em?

Yep, but they spook real easy, so if you spot one, kill to trolling motor really quickly.

Yep, they are very spooky. I used a pushpole and stand in the front of the boat.
