Wish-I-Were-Fishn
This forum is a great place to ask about resort recommendations. Have you ever seen pictures in a brochure than drive up there and fined out the pics must have been taken 60 years ago when the place was new? I hate when that happens! Surface Tension
We take pictures to help hold onto memories. Could be a picture of grandpa that they weren't ready to throw away just yet.
Surface Tension
I had to stop work on the boat and come back to this topic.Crazy I know. I like old pictures. I can't help imagining what life was like at that time and the story they tell.. Imagine a picture with a man in a flannel shirt and old aluminum boat in the backround. This guy pioneered the area and built the log lodge with nothing but an ax and sweat. The lodge still stands today, over the years the logs show their age. How many guests have come and gone over that time. Young kids then now still return to the lodge with their young. An other picture with a guy dressed in the finest Cabela wear. Theres a new Lund boat with all the latest electronics in the backround. This guy works in a major city as a computer programmer. Hes on vacation from the Rat Race and drove through heavy traffic to get into Gods Country for the weekend. As he poses for the picture the thought of having to go home haunts him. GotOne
I think he meant that the place looked new when the pictures were taken (way back when) and now the resort/cabins are old and run down. I have been there.
