ocf1
Ok, this is my first early bass season that i've known what i'm doing with bass. My only problem is I have no clue in the world where the bass are. I've heard this is the time to beat up on the bass but i only managed a dink today.
Mr. Pike1
Think shallow and spinner to get on top of the shallow weeds. Mepps spinner have treated me well
TurnUpTheFishing
Definatley start shallow. Look for areas that look like fish spawned in and fish shouldnt be too far away. Dont get frustrated if you get lots of dinks this time of year. Thats the Males that are generally small and actively guarding nests/fry. Those big females should be in the same areas but might not be very active. When I find spawning areas but only little bass I look for the first transition area wether it be a weedline, first noticable depth change, or bottom content change lots of times this is the area the females will stop at after the spawn. ocf1
I ended up going out again and caught more dinks, all with a jerk bait. I know what you mean by inactive females, i saw the biggest bass i have ever seen with my eyes in 5 fow, couldnt even finesse it. Well next week is payback for me, im going to nail them females-hopefully.
