How bad will he get it ?

Just to stir the pot a little more, here's a little quote I pulled from another site regarding the late race debris "non-caution". This should really be of interest to all of the "you guys are just jealous gordon bashers" people. You can find the whole article on the thats racin site.

But it's not only the people finishing second who are questioning NASCAR.

"Absolutely (there) should have been a caution at the end," Gordon said after a fourth straight Hendrick victory and eighth in nine races.

The problem is that nascar is losing fans, and they are listening too much to feedback from whiner fans who aren't the "real fans" anyways. They just need to be more consistant.

I don't think the fans need to make up their minds, NASCAR needs to make up their mind.

I think both need to make up thier minds as already stated. All I'm saying is 3 weeks ago people on this site (and I can't remember who) were complaining about too many cautions for debris. Now people are complaining about not having cautions for debris. I think we all would like too see the consistency (from NASCAR) as a main point. But I don't like hearing people play both sides of the fence.

BTW-- I remember a few years ago when gordon took a chunck of asphalt teh size of a basketball to the front of his car and no debris caution was thrown then. So please back off of all the "favoritism" retoric. As stated during the race from the announcers. Hendrick is just running perfect right now and picking up the scraps. If Hamlin's tire changer could get that lug nut on in two tries instead of three he probably would've won that race. You gotta bring your A game if you want to win.

Thanks snowman678 for that wise bit of insight. wink.gif

I'm not backing off of any favortism rhetoric because I haven't given any about this! If you want some, I'll give it to you though. You were the first one to bring the 24 into this discussion just to stir AGAIN.

My point is that NASCAR is flip-flopping with their judgement. Now if you want to read into the fact that it seems to have benefitted the Hendrick crew, then go right ahead.

I disagree Lawdog...when a facemask is seen, it's called almost 100% of the time. Even if a rule infraction in other sports isn't called 100% of the time, it's a high percentage......not like how NASCAR has been calling/not calling these debris cautions which are very obvious (this past week anyway). It's a crapshoot anymore with those guys.

Not a jealous Gordon basher, and am not a very well informed racing fan to begin with, but how does a guy embrace a guy like gordon......eeeeeuuuuuuu....good racer no doubt, but I give much of the kudo's to his team. He just gives me the creeps! Sorry in advance to all you gordon fans. Now I'll go back to work..... grin.gif

Nice work Snowman. At least someone has the ability to back thier statements with facts.

However I still agree with Lawdog. During the race (not post race instant-replay) I didn't notice anything that should have brought out the caution from the camera point of view. I don't know how close to the track the race officials are as far as thier view is concerned either. But I just think in the interest of racing it is thier judgement call whether to throw a caution or not. I would rather not see one. How many times do have they gone G-W-checkered and they can't make it the final two laps without someone crashing trying to gain a spot or two. Thats the real shame I think when a team runs in the top 15 all day and gets taken out by two over zealous drivers crashing out 5 spots ahead of them during the G-W-C (overtime) and then have to settle for a bottom 35 finish.

Because when I got into NASCAR, i could not for the life of me understand why so many people disliked "The best driver on the circuit" And I immediately knew I would have the most fun annoying people who like inferior drivers. Much the a Packer fan teases a Vikes Fan "how many rings". In baseball its the Yankees. Well Nascar is the one sport where you don't have to pick a driver based on where they are from (see note on bottom) But can be super bandwagon and just pick the BEST driver. That is why I like JG. In Nascar I feel like a New Yorker and JG are my Yankees. One can only take the small market minnesota talk so far.

NOTE.....Sometimes one's job at say Napa autoparts forces one to root for a total looser like mikey Waltrip. I feel sorry for people like that.
