Lowrance Expedition c Question

After months and months of trying to purchase the Expedition c, I finally got one. My question is how far should I zoom into a lake so that I would be able to follow the contours of the lake easily?

I usually have mine zoomed as far as possible then back out 3 clicks if I am trolling with big motor. If running I back out 4 or 5 times.

I hope this makes sense. Just play with it and you will get the feel for what works.
