Ants all over the yard

Opie

Recommended Posts

We are having a major ant problem in our yard. It has been getting worse over the past couple of years. We have tried sprays and granules in the past (Diazanon, etc.), works so so for a bit, then the ants are back. We have very sandy soil, so they have no problems making ant hills everywhere. What can we do to eliminate or reduce them?? We also have two dogs that have free reign of the yard, so I would be a bit concerned on the effects of certain chemicals.

Thanks,

Dean Thorn

I use grubX ? put it in the spredder, go around the house twice. Spray the doorways with Raid ant stuff. Do this 2-3 times a the first year. Then for the rest of the year when you know for sure you are going to get a good soaking rain do the rest of the yard. 1 or 2 times. After that it is about once a year. I usaully buy my stuff in the fall when it is on clearance. With your pets do the front yard 1 week and the back the next.
