got a boat partner for opener? i have a very similar plan but my boat mate bailed on me for "better fishing on lake harriet"...... otherwise i may just stick to the pond and play bumper boats on the north end - at least my tangled lines will give me someone to shout at.

I do have someone fishing with me at least for part of the day. Dont now how long he is willing to hang out. If the fishing is slow in the morning he might take off for home.

Always room for 3 if you want to.

I've never fished the pond on opener. But I really don't think you'll be playing bumper boats on the north end. Most of the action early in the year is on the south end. Fish are there on the north end, no doubt. But the boat traffic is actually pretty light there until the end of June to early July, from my experiences. My experiences also indicate that there's a reason for the lack of boats.

Not sure what my plan is for opener. I probably won't know until a few days before.

my comment was more dominated by the amount of press the lake has gotten.

to be honist i have not done to well anywhere on the pond early in the season. was thinking thats the warmest water that time of year and i had never tried the north stuff till much later so why not. plus its way closer to my new location.

110,000 Acres is plenty to share wink.gif

I will be on a "Little" lake up by Bemidji, With a Max depth of 24 feet and water clarity of 5 feet, I think that it will be a good opener lake.

If that doesn't produce, we will probably go to Mantrap or the Mighty Leech.

By the way, is there an opener coming up? I guess I hadn't thought about it much (like every day for the past three months...) smirk.gif

Hey scorp1 maybe i'll see you out there. I'll be in a grey alumnacraft with 40 merc. Pretty crowded on elk for the opener last year. Bout 15 boats out on that little lake. I did manage a 44" in the morning though. Good luck and stop by and say hi if you see me.
