Howieroch
My brother (Cornpiratekiller) and spent Wednesday through Saturday in SouthEastern Iowa chasing turkeys. The weather was terrible down there and we had a hard time getting any birds close to us. About noon on Friday we decided we needed a break so we headed for town to have a little lunch. About half way to town the road went through a little cut with a high bank on either side. Just as we got to that bank a BIG tom flew off the bank - we didn't see it until it was about two feet from the wind shield. Yep, WHAM! The windshield exploded and bowed in about 6 inches, but luckily held in place. We were both coated in glass scared spitless and my brother looks over and says "Well, we got a gobbler!" We turned around to go check on the bird, and were amazed to find it had made it 20 yards up the hill on the far side of the road before it collapsed. It had a broken wing and was pretty banged up so I finished it off and put it in the truck. The bird ended up being 25 pounds with a 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/8" spurs. Amazingly, we were even able to salvage most of the meat out of the bird. I'll never forget seeing that huge bird coming at the truck - all I saw was the beard and the big red head before the impact. It sounded like a bomb inside the truck. We called a body shop and they told us to bring the truck right over - two hours after we hit the bird we drove out of the shop with the truck fixed up good as new. We never did end up shooting any birds, but we still had a terrific hunt. Hopefully next year we'll have better weather when we go back...

MNOutdoorsman
You guys need to get a license for that truck. So far this year it has "harvested" a deer and a turkey. outdoorminnesota
Howieroch
What are the chances? We go turkey hunting and hit a turkey with the truck. I'm just glad we weren't elk hunting.
CornPirateKiller
Yeah, this fall when we DO go elk hunting, we're taking your vehicle. My truck blows out glass chips every time I turn on the defroster.
