Finally the Big Day

The day finally came and my new hunting partner has come home! We were excited to see her after seeing her days after she was born. Picked her up Friday and have had nothing but fun each day....I know, I know, it's early and I"m sure it will wear off wink.gif Our little GSP was the runt and of the litter, but shows a lot of love and companionship. Still trying to build her independence, but that will come in time.

I'll post some pictures when I get them downloaded.

This dog business is a lot of work grin.gif I get home and all I do is play, play, play with the pup. I figure the more time I put into her now the more I'll get out of her in the field.

Here are a few pictures of Reigny, our newest family member!

My pup was the runt of the litter and she is the best dog i have ever had. She just turned a year old and at 3 minths old was pointing pheasants. She is a pointing lab. She is a great dog and you are doing it right by all the play time. Here is one thing you MUST DO. Take your pup on a walk every night. Expose her to new things and let her go discover things like tall grass creeks and the like. also make her overcome a few simple obstacles. It sure builds confidence in a Runt. Once they learn they can overcome they are unstopable.

Cap,

Congrats! I know we talked about breeders way back after you decided on going with a Shorthair. Where did she come from?

Just curious as that saddle marking makes her look so much like the shorty I lost last February that it brought a tear to my eye.

Irv,

I do remember talking to you early in my search for a GSP breeder. I went with a place in Rice Lake, WI.

Reigny is her name and she is going to be 12 weeks old this coming Tuesday. I can't believe we have had her for about 1 month now! Every day is a learning day for her and I, but we make if fun learning.

I've been soaking up all the info. in this forum and reading, re-reading the info. here about puppies. I want to make a good hunting dog so making sure to do the right vs. the wrong things.
