who's going over to wisc. for a true opener. i'm going the only problem is i just looked at the site and saw the license fee is 50 bones now.

It was $50 last year also. Talk about a rip off, and tell me why Minnesota doesn't do that to Wisconsin people to fight back ?

It's only $24 for the 4 day permit. Which would be more than enough for me. I was kicking the idea around of maybe fishing in Wisconsin instead of Pool 2.

It looks like we will get blown off the river with the wind. Anyone been fishing for bass there this last week or so?

I'll be on long lake (the one next to Balsam) for a club tournament in two weeks, but hope to go prefish it next weekend after schools out. Seems to be a pretty small lake (300 acres!). Anyone fished this before? Whats it like...water clarity? grass? wood? Don't want your spots or specific lures, just looking for some general info on the composition of the lake.

If its the long lake out of Centuria I have fished it quite a few times...

Long Lake in Centuria is loaded with nice fish. I have fished this lake a ton and have caught some monsters!!

Early on the season you want to fish the Western-most side of the lake. There is a huge shallow flat that the fish migrate up on. I would start there!!
