Anybody else order the new glow boards for night trolling?

Recommended Posts

I just saw the ad in this month's walleye insider for the new glow boards from yellow bird and called to order a set. I guess they're selling out as fast as they can make em ooo.gif I do a lot of flatlining at night and usually just run two out the back but these boards should be just the ticket to pop out a couple more stickbaits and increase the spread after dark when I've got another person on board. I guess they're painted in the new everglo paint which will hold a charge for about 3 hours if you leave them out in direct sunlight for a while. Should be fun watching those babies get dunked and dissapear underwater at night when a nice eye grabs on. Certainly a little different than watching my Offshore boards during the day. I can't wait to try em out and just wondering if anybody else ordered a set to try confused.gif

i have no need to for glow boards, i just use the little lights you put on your bobbers on my tattle flags, works great and they never need to be recharged. just a thought. Jonah

That sounds like a good idea also! I've got 6 Offshore boards already for daytime trolling and I always like to try new things in the way of fishing gear so I couldn't pass em up grin.gif Hopefully they'll be here within a week or so as will our NY walleye season.

Dont matter if its just you or not boards at night are still a nightmare. I would just long line 2 8.5-10' rods out the back. The more moving pieces or parts that you have to take on and off in the dark makes it harder and harder.

If you really want to board at night by all means go and do it and see what you think. Maybe you will fall in love with it.

Honestly with 2 very experienced walleye trollers and a Minn Kota auto pilot trolling motor that takes the whole boat control factor out of the equation I don't think it's all that complicated to run a board or two along with the normal two I run out the back. Maybe I'll change my mind once I get these specific boards and try em out after dark but the whole point of my post was to just see if anybody else was ordering these boards not to get into a discussion about how hard it is to fish boards at night and whether you should even bother. confused.gif
