DEI - Yates Racing

Just heard tonite!

DEI and Robert Yates Racing have had talks about joining

Doug Yates said it's a long shot. One reason is DEI relationship with Chevy & Yates with Ford. He spoke highly about the opportunity to be teamed up with Junior. Could Junior be driving a Ford soon?

What do you think about that?

I've been reading about that too. Yates has been a Ford guy forever so I don't really see him (or Ford letting him) work on Chevy's and I don't think anyone see's an Earnhardt in a Ford. I can however see both of them in a Dodge.

Actually in the story I read the DEI spokesman said they are entertaining offers from ALL manufacturers and there would be some advantages to them for going with Ford and teaming with Doug Yates as they aren't totally happy with their engine department and he is considered a big guru of Cup engines (even if they are Fords!).

On Sunday's race, it was talked about that yates would be selling out to DEI, and going Chevy...

Guess at this point in time, it's anyone's guess..

Time will tell...but silly season will be underway here pretty quick with the way things are going right now..
