I've heard of people training there dogs to find shed antlers, I'm betting that with the right training and encouragement you could train a dog to find morels.

It is possible for a dog to sniff out morels. It is common in Europe for dogs and even pigs to be trained to find truffels. Truffles are an even more prized fungus than morels!

ANything is possible. You just need to find a way to do it. They can train dsogs to find just about anything if you have a way to keep the scent for training purposes.
