Lakota (with pics)

fished lakota this after noon from 1-5 pm. Caught one fish all day on my very first cast. It was a nice healthy fat 5lb 21.5 inch large mouth!

I was super excited especially to catch something like this here in SD, and this was the first time I had ever fished this lake. I had one more nice fish on but lost him at the boat.

the water must have came up pretty good this spring. When I was down there in Jan. 2006 the water was 10 feet from the cement boat landing.

Nice bass too. Maybe the Bluegills will come back with the high water.

Lakota is just over run with 4-5" perch. This winter we just gave up because all you could catch was 37 babies in between 9inchers. That is far and away the biggest bass I have seen caught from there, nice fish. In a few yrs the crappies will be back also. How do you keep your dog from stealing your sandwich? My dog learned how to box me out when we are both after my sandwich.
