Powerstroke
I cracked open my well today and flushed out the spigots. I will run the irrigation to see if there was any winter damage this weekend. You can start watering when ever you like. The golf courses in the south metro are already running irrigation since I'm sure they've fertilized already. LwnmwnMan2
I see about 40% of the commercial properties having already irrigated, or irrigating now.Ground temps are around 40-45 degrees on the north side of the metro, the farther north you go, the cooler they're going to be.If you're south of St. Cloud, I'd say "start-r-up". If you're north, you could probably hold off for another week or so.It's not that it won't help, it'll obviously help the moisture level. If you're doing it just so the yard will be green, that's not going to work 100%, only because not all of the ground is warm enough yet. lawdog
July...You really shouldn't need to be watering anything these days. Nothing has dried out too much yet.

I'm with Lawdog.... that you wait until it starts to dry out before watering. What happens with yards that get over-watered, the grass roots stay shallow, they don't go down deep (3-4") where the moisture level stays. This is why, when you see yards that have sprinkler systems that run every day, when the watering bans kick in, they pretty much turn brown instantly. If you're on a well, just dragging a hose,go ahead and give it some water. You should have gotten enough water though over the weekend, at least we did here. I just checked your weather for FF, and it looks like you've got a chance at some showers towards the end of the week, but nothing too promising. You have to take what I say with a grain of salt though. I get paid whether the grass grows or not.
