Where should this be mounted? Can it be mounted behind the windshield on a dual console? Lowrance Unit.

I have my Lowrance 334c mounted behind the windshield and have not had any problems picking up reception.

thanks tipman! just thought I should add that this is the external module on a lcx 16ci. Ant experiences with the external behind windshield appreciated. Biggest concern is wife, kids, or dogs stepping on it!!

Lowrance recommends that the module be mounted a minimum of three feet away from the unit itself to avoid potential reception problems. It should be placed in as open an area as possible. On the bow or the rear of the gunnel works very well.

Thanks satchmo...already have the extension cable and I am going to mount it a lillte ways away from the trolling motor on the bow. Thanks again. Only thing I wonder about is if lowrance wants it mounted 3 feet away why do they send it with only 2 ft of cable??$$$$$$

They used to sell the units with a 2-footer and a 15 or 25 footer. There is more than one way to up profit margins I guess.
