outdoor ran
Whos your biggest surprise and disappointment so far this racing season? I'd have to say Mark Martin has suprised me. Didn't expect him to do that good after leaving Roush. I think Kasey Kahne has been a big disappointment so far this year after winning all them races last year. Meaney
first off, its Roush you know I had to add that, Outdoor Ran!! My biggest surprise is, even though I don't like him, how good JP Montoya is doing. What is he, about 12th in points?
eyepatrol
Biggest surprise - Jamie Mc. & JPMBiggest Disappointment - Kahne and Mears
PikeBayCommanche
Carl Edwards. How is he 8th in points. A quiet 8th thats for sure. Hell if Kahne doesn't start doing something he will be fighting just to be in the race.
JohnMickish
Kahne and McMurry are my surprizes. Why are you guys surprised at Montoya? Lawdog and I have been telling you that this guys is probably the best true driver in NASCAR. Look where he runs now and imagine how he will be when he makes a second trip back to the tracks. Harmonica Bear
Surprises - Clint Bowyer deserves a nod. Martin, too.Disappointments - Kahne for sure, and Mears as mentioned earlier. You almost wonder if that 4th Hendrick team is 2nd rate. Also, I have to include Stewart. He's close, but I really thought he would light it up this year. Arguably he's been a notoriously slow starter and he should be there in the end, I just thought after the way he finished last year that would carry over to the start of this year, not that 4 top tens and a top 5 is bad way to start. Maybe I should re-think that...
Sifty
Reading this it surpries's me that no one has brought up Jr.I for one think he is having a very disappointing season. As for the suprise It has to go to Martin.Sifty
HOF#13
I'm not real happy about where Jr. is at in the standings, but don't think he has been a disappointment so far this year. He has had some pretty bad luck. Getting wrecked at Daytona, engine blowing up the next week, and the getting taken out in Texas. I know it's all part of racing, but for the most part he and the Bud team have been real competitive. Dissapointing maybe for his fans, to any race fan that knows his/her head from their (well u know) it is par for the course. Oh well maybe next year, or next year, or next year, or next year, or next year, or next year, or next year, or next year, or next year, or next year................ He'll win a championship someday
VMS
No doubt in my mind that Kahne so far has had a very dissappointing year. Nothing seems to be going well. Not sure why, and we will probably never know why...but something needs to change or he will be out of any chance at a top 12 for the chase...pretty hard to come back already to get there but it can be done... After looking at some of the stats from last week, he moved up due to other's mishaps...Surprise...Martin. I think he is much happier being in control more so than when he was with rousch (in terms of when he wants to race, etc). He's out there to have fun, so he seems very relaxed...the pressure to try and win a championship are not there. steve
lawdog
I'm not sure the biggest surprise and the biggest dissapointment aren't the same...I'm VERY surprised by the DISAPPOINTING standings of Kasey Kahne. They are just awful...I'd say the biggest surprise in a "doing better than expected" sense would have to be McMurray. I've never given him much credit for being any good... LMITOUT
I'd vote for Kahne also. He's been terrible.
VMS
I think it just took a little more time for the team to gel. he has done quite well this year in the car and things seem to be going much better.Maybe the whole ordeal from last year was their jinx for all the driver changes done somewhat backwards and ...ah...somewhat underhandedly? Same thing happened to Kurt Busch as well...Steve
