Cat Report

It's from 4-10-07. We fished our power plant lake again and ran into one 25+, 2 20lbers, 5-6 10ers and only two dinks. Over a hundred pounds of cats caught in about 5 hours of fishing time. All trolling in 3-7 feet of warm water. Here are some pics. There not the best at showing off the size so I will have to talk with Mike about that.LOL

It's about an hour twenty for me but I live in Illinois. We have two power plant lakes in our area and both have a great cat fishery. There was a 42lber out of the other lake a couple of weeks ago. If you want to fish them I can go out with you or give you some places to go.

So do the power plants have warm water near by?

You said you were trolling? What did you use for bait?

The water was high 70's. We were using spoonplugs. Yes I said spoonplugs. They were about 2 inches long. We left with the fish still biting, had things to do. Not my choice.

Looks like too much fun! I love it when conditions are right for catching cats on lures. Its amazing how agressive they can be!

Great fish! Next time out, could you please take a picture of these spoonplugs. I know I have seen them before, but can not place the image in my mind at the moment.

I had a party last night and showed my buddies your pic's. They all were in a frenzy to get out after this. We are going down to the Mississippi (St. Paul area) on the 21st.
