Southern MN Lakes

Recommended Posts

Muskie lakes around here are slim. Seems like every muskie guy and their bro fish french. Any other lakes within an hr or so drive?? Its 45 mins to french from clevland and for the same drive id just as assume go north and fish somewhere in the south to mid metro. Any lakes up that way with big fish, minimum pressure??? Also Has anyone fished white bear or bald eagle???? Grew up that way as a kid but never muskie fished on them. What about silver lake in North st paul??

White Bear is great for muskies, never had much luck on Bald Eagle but there are big fish there, as far as southern MN not yet! The Muskies Inc. chapter in Owatonna is doing as much as they can to get fish into other lakes but that is a very slow process and will take a long time to get bigger fish. Another lake that wouldn't be too bad a drive for you is Lake Minetonka. Any more questions drop me an email, i'm always looking for someone to go around French with! smile.gif

I have fished Cedar Lake fairly often, and I have only caught small tigers, under 30 inches. That doesn't mean they aren't in there, just that I'm no good at catching them. mad.gif It does get difficult to fish after the weeds grow, it can make parts of the lake nearly impossible.
