Transducer Location

I'm going to install a Marcum LX-3 on my '78 Mr. Pike with a 70 Evinrude. The recommended location for the transducer is to the right of the motor because that is the downswing side of the prop. I aready have a transducer on that side and I am not planning on removing that one. Does anyone know if I should I put it on the other side or crowd them both on the right side?

Big-Al, from my experience, side by side is fine. I don,t think there should be any interference problems. And I do see a lot of rigs w, multiple transducers together.

Placing them side by side is no problem. If your xducers are different frequencies they will work together. If they are the same frequecy then they will interfere no matter where on the boat they are mounted. The plastic mounting plates sold for this purpose are one of the "best friends" of boat riggers. Only two holes in the boat and mount all the electronics sensors you need.

Thanks for the responses. I just figured out that both my Marcum and My Hummingbird run on 200 KHZ, so I suppose I won't be able to run both at the same time.

You can run two sonars together that are the same frequency but you will get interference. Turn down the Sensitivity on one and that will help. Wouldn't it be nice if you could pick a frequency (192 vs 200) when you buy your electronics?
