WBL is my favorite of the three, lots of structure and places to hit, deep and shallow. Great place to accelerate the learning curve. Forest is 2nd, although it seems I move more lazy, non committed fish there than anywhere else. B Eagle has been really green the last couple years, and the access has been ripped up so I have not hit it that much.

All three are tough on the weekends, and you'll often see bass tourneys, etc. so they get busy. The late season is the best time on these lakes.

I live in that area also, frequent all three of the lakes at different times.

If you look at the 2006 muskie photo thread, bottom of page 16, that fish came out of Bald Eagle. Saw quite a bit there last year, awfully green though!

Guy's,

The (Contact Us Please) Inc chapter fishes these lakes on league night every year. They are regular stops that hit the lakes at some of their peak times. 10 years of league nights have produced on a regular basis.

White Bear has been the toughest nut to crack for our group. I think we figured it out last year. 50.5", 45" 40.5" and several others hooked and lost. All are great lakes.

All of the lakes are very good and they all have some very Scary fish blush.gif

Good Luck

Steve

Dudes White bear is fun.

Even on weekends.

Just think like a fish.

Early morning go up tight top water, bucktail.

Lunch time to before sunset go work weed lines FAST!!!

Moving in an out from deep open water to weddlines.

Big sunny days or heavy traffice boat times work out to fish total open water fish.

Some with be a bit off structure they relate to from spot to spot but most just following panfish suspended or perch a bit deeeper.

Try bulldawgs counted down, large spinnerbaits an heavy bucktail, toss in a crank makybe.

Mix it up slow an FAST, fast, fast..

Night time work back in shalow and hit the same morning structure leading up tight.

Even with boats traffic you will do well most of the time.

Some big pike in open water also.

You can even do well trolling in summer with huge doctor spoons.

Not that hard to figure out or some people say CRACK.

Few people an myself have been having fun doing this time an again in a small 16' lund 9.9 motor since they were old enuff to photo up.

Fun to look back at photos--less of me an no gray.

Fish go in to eat, go out to eat, come back in to eat.

Some resting an farting in there also but not all fish do this at the same time.

There is also one samll area that holds some killer whale smallies.

BIG.

Forest Lake is a bit different but not so much.

Very easy to find suspended fish to work.

YOur just not used to doing it.

GO FOR IT.

Rest of the lake is a weed guy /gals paradise.

Used to be a dock boys at Fred & Marcies Resort for Fred & Marcie Tomkie also at Shady Oaks Resort for Bob & Millie Bungert on 3rd lake 1966 to 1971.

No fancy electronics back then only a rope an window weight for depth finder.

Found rocks that way also an learned what bottom was made of by either diving down when out showing off to girls where we could get that deep or remembering an marking on hand made map what came up off anchor when still fishen or swiming off pontoon with guest of resots.

Fun stuff growing up. Fun stuff.

BIG pike in deep weeds also run along deep muck, sand transition to weeds.

Midnight to hour before sun up drag a cralwer on a long line, split shot & hook so slow your not hardly moving between 1st & 2nd an get some walleye breakfast.

Be sure to drop by my little step brothers place ZA' for dinner off 1st lake launch.

He aint to bad a cook. Mention my name an he will no doubt chage ya DOUBLE!

Step sister Georgia is waitress, kind a crazy, but cute an SINGLE!

Bald Eagle has turned into almost total open water fishen for larger fish in day time.

Find their food you going to do well.

Still find us out there when in town for a family fix but most all my time last 12 years been on my Island up Vermilion.

No fish by my docks, EVER!

GO enjoy, be safe, have fun.
